Where Have I been ??

Well look who appeared *me*. I am back people from let's say a long vacation (skip the long talk nah). Well as you tomorrow is NikkiLand, The Children's All Inclusive and just for you I'll attend (why ah telling tales ?). Any how I win two tickets and I'll surely be heading down there (thank you 96.1). So look out for me tomorrow ! I out (peeps I soooooooooooo TIRED).....

My Compialation

So, I sat down thinking about the songs I really liked and while thinking I decided to put pen to paper to create this little skit that will be turned into THE Trini Carnival Story. Take a look :

Ah' taking ah wine on ah *Town Thing* who is a real *Naughty Shortie*. She went down to de gound in d' *Middle of D' Road*. People call she bad but ah tell them she is *My Bad Thing*. Them think I care bout what they say but they aint know I *Wotless*. Is d *Trini* way in meh. So we continue to *Wine to D' Side* until d music stop. We jump in d' car and d gyul start to scream out meh name so ah tell she "*Ah Coming Again*. Then she tell me "*Give it to me propper*" So ah tell she "*Pump it Up*" and then yuh could *Go Down*. Ah telling yuh she is pure *Sweetness*.............

Out with the old and in with the new, well is that so ? As we bid farewell to a year that was, bitter- sweet, we must remember the great times we had in 2010 and also the bad ! So, to all my readers out there have a HAPPY New Year.

I really want to wish all my readers a VERY Merry Christmas and I hope you enjoy the day to the fullest. Please remember the reason for the season, and eat in MODERATION. I am BUSY as a bee with the Christmas prep. Doh talk bout making pastelle, yuh boy is a PRO . I just needed to check up on the blog to make sure you'll know I am still on the map. What really going on here ? Yuh wanna know why EVERY TIME I enter a KFC restaurant, I leave either PISSED or SOUR ? Well, It seems that KFC sees the need for a price increase and a service decrease. Lemme give yuh dis thing TRINI STYLE, ah fed up of KFC prices just sky-rocketing every BLINKIG time. O gosh, how Japs could give yuh ah better service, ah better taste and two bigger pieces of chicken with fries for $20.00 with garlic sauce that nice and thick. Well, Saucy may not be feeling the carnival feeling but I am. As we head into the new year there are many things I am thankful and my list is as follow:



1) The gift of LIFE, without life, we would not be soo excited for the season(s) (Christmas and Carnival). We must thank God for us being here with each other to celebrate with each other what we enjoy doing.



2) Ronnie & Caro.. Yes, I am VERY thankful for them because without them, I would have never had the BEST experience on the road in the BEST costume. I KNOW that not only I can say that Ronnie & Caro did provide a GREAT experience no matter what people say.



3) Family.... Without them I would have NOTHING.... NUFF SAID

4) Saucy and Kris... Maybe I was RUDE in the past towards Saucy,but, I am really thankful for her. She was my inspiration for this blog. We Reach D stage

So I got official word that there WILL indeed be a stage for Carnival 2011 so I hope that the process of crossing the stage is done in a ORDERLY manner with bands being given timelines to cross. I can't stand the idea of waiting in line for more than an hour to cross, I will be PISSED they'll maybe make a costume named 'Pissing Mad'.

DKrewe registration is now open BOTH online and at the mascamp. Legacy website will be launched on Wednesday 3rd November 2010.

So I am truly feeling the carnival bug BITING me (that is why I would love to see a band produce 'Too Much Ah Biting Insects with a section called Carnival Bug or Carnival Fever). I'll me heading down to watch some Intercol football and after, I think I will visit Rosalino Street or even Alcazer street !!! So until then, Have a Safe and enjoyable Saturday !

Sucessful Band... Tips to the band leader! Part 1

So it is a FACT that some bands do not make profit that they set out to make so never worry Captain Carnival is here with tips.



1. Choosing a THEME: It is a fact that a theme helps to create a VIBE on the public. Choosing a theme is REALLY important and also choosing the RIGHT one because you do not want a theme where you make 5 prototypes and yuh just can't vision the next 5, because it is IMPORTANT you stick to your theme and create a storyline.



2. Your LAUNCH: There are many factors you MUST consider when it comes to you launch, the mos important is the date. To ensure you get MAXIMUM media at the launch, DO NOT launch on the same day as another band !! WORSE YET if you are a small band like (Eg. Genesis) and you launch same day as a MUCH bigger band like Tribe. Models also help, ensure your models can WORK the costumes enough to have people wanting to register on launch night.

The Carnival Fever

Well I visited Ronnie&Caro's mas camp last Saturday and boy, we have really reached the stage and we just warming up to take band of the year !!!!! Go Green fronting is SOLD OUT and the female are NEAR SOLD OUT !! Smoke Pollution and Tsunami are also doing well in terms of sales BUT otherwise the others are also going FAST, some faster than others. The Right Costume and Band

I have been away for the week all trapped up in the net called SCHOOL. While I was away, I realised that I needed to address a few topics but the more important one being choosing the RIGHT band and the RIGHT costume for you for Carnival Monday and Tuesday.The right band : TRIBE/Bliss and Island people is THE Teenie Bopper band, so if going for either note that there will be many youngsters. YUMA, is new and from what I see they have a mixed crowd. Ronnie&Caro is generally a band mixed up like, JUST the right mix of people and the BEST vibes.Spice is a mix aged, the age vary from 20-40. Harts if yuh aunty, uncle, nene and all wanna play, well yuh know where to go. McFarlane and Skulldugerry will attract the older peeps. Wee Int is just the wild and loose band yuh could get on WASSY . SO don't choose the band where D Crew is, choose the one that BEST SUITS YOU and yuh 10 cents. THE RIGHT COSTUME: Now, this depends on you, your body size and shape. Always watch EVERY SINGLE DETAIL on the costume, if possible go to the mas camp and enquire about what you are uncertain about. So I hope you use my advice as best as you possibly can, because I HATE to See people unhappy with the costume and the band they choose. After all you are paying your 10 cents. I personally recommend Ronnie&Caro for the BEST experience and the best costume. PLEASE email me if you have any other questions.

The Mass and Marse....

So for some time, it has been debated for a long while that we Trinis are forgetting our culture, but really and truly thais just talk...... It is the simple, some people want the MARSE (all covered up McFarlane) and some want MASS aka BBF(Bikini beads and feathers). What you want is what you will get so if i want just a board shorts I pay for it and if some ladies want BBF, they pay for it and if you want MARSE take yuh MARSE.. SO SIMPLE

I just HATE to hear people RUN THEY MOUTH like water and they talking utter none sense. I see all aspects of our culture DURING the Carnival season and on carnival Monday. It still have the Pan, the Jouvert, The Ole Time Characters, The Calypso and everything else. So think before yuh talk nah !!

Smoke Pollution Footwear finds

Again, there are some people who just prefer sneakers instead of boots for the road... LEAVE DEM NAH.... Doh Judge.... I found this pair of sneakers @jimmyjazz.com which can work well with Ronnie&Caro's Smoke Pollution. I actually wore the brown in those last year for Africa. So try them.........

So I see meh boi Kris of TrinidadEvents.com well upgrade and fancy up, so I say time for we to get moving.. So yuh boi say he'll make the blog an image/logo/ whatever yuh wanna call it !! It Hot eh...... And from now, Is TRINI DIALECT on D' blog nah like meh friend wuzdescene.com.....
